Planning & Zoning

The Division of Planning and Zoning is responsible for developing and implementing the city's Comprehensive Plan, which is a long-term guiding document that outlines the vision, goals, and strategies for the city's growth, development, and land use, as well as other city planning initiatives. The Division of Planning and Zoning is also responsible for zoning compliance, alley/street vacations, lot split/combinations, historic preservation, public vending, downtown residential parking, and arts and culture. Additionally, the Division of Planning and Zoning is responsible for the administration of the Planning Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, the Landmark Commission, the Bayfront Corridor Committee, and the Public Arts & Culture Commission
